Blixem was founded and is still owned by producer/director André Calitz. Two decades on, #TeamBlixem is an efficient collective across Southern Africa that shoots, cuts and delivers broadcast, live and online work for our clients.
About
Since 2003, and still hands-on.
We started as one producer with a DVCAM camera and a lot of stubbornness. Those first workhorse cameras still work — and the same instinct still runs the place: turn up, listen properly, and make something the client is proud to put their name on.
Today we work out of Paarl in the Western Cape with a footprint in Gauteng, on television series, documentaries, live recordings and the online content brands need every week. It is never just business — it is relationships that keep coming back.

What we do

Broadcast production
Series, inserts and documentaries made to broadcaster spec — from concept and schedule through to delivery and subtitling.
Post & remote editing
Our own suites in Paarl plus a remote-editor network: media stays on our servers, editors work anywhere with 10 Mbps, we carry the heavy lifting.
Social & online content
Campaign films, product and ad inserts, and the steady weekly volume of short-form a brand actually needs — shot and cut for the feed.
Live stream & concert recording
Multicam concerts, festivals and events — live TV recordings and concert films, mixed and mastered for release.
